Why not have students collect, assess and present their cumulative or summative work for a “real” audience? Often the idea of portfolio or capstone work gets tossed around at schools but eventually tossed aside: too hard, not everyone would buy in, some kids wouldn’t ‘do’ the work, we can’t do that here.
We’re of the mind that in fact the use of student-created assessment tools make learning real. We’re experienced in multi-faceted levels of what that might look like for your school or district and happy to help you explore what would work best to pilot– and how to get there—or to assist in getting those good ideas unearthed.
We can also assist schools unsure about how to technologically approach the use of e-portfolios in accessing, personalizing, trouble-shooting and introducing software programs that make them easy.
