Teacher Leaders and Teams

Department Chairs, Lead Teachers, Cluster Leaders; all names for a role that requires multiple hats –and that’s not easy. Gone are the days when being a department chair meant ordering the textbooks and counting them at the end of the year.

Conflicts of time and role (am I a colleague or a supervisor? How do I process evaluations with my colleagues? What happens when there are hard questions? How do I use our departmental meeting time effectively? ) make this a challenging position and we can help with intensive trainings on leadership and supervision as well as ongoing coaching and support. Training in observation, evaluation, running effective department meetings, LASW and peer-observation help to create a common core of understandings and protocols that work best to support teacher leaders  in an Instructional Leadership Team or across a school or district.
